Eye Exam

Eye Exams are an essential part of maintaining one’s health on a regular basis. The examination done on the eyes is not only determining one’s prescription for eyewear but also checks for any clinical abnormalities. For this reason, it is extremely important to have a check-up done at least once every year for children and seniors and once every two years for all adults between the ages of 20 and 65. OHIP covers for the examination for all less than 20 years of age and over 65 years.

At Crystalline Eyewear, we have two Doctors who comes in at least twice a week to do the Eye exams and we arrange for this for all our clients. The doctor charges a nominal fee for the Exam for all persons not eligible through OHIP but this cost can be recovered in the form of discounts that we provide when one purchases eyeglasses from us.

The Doctors who are authorized to perform eye Exams have to be Licensed Optometrists, Ophthalmologists or Physicians. Any of these above can do the exam and advise on the prescription accordingly. If there is any need for any patient to be referred to a specialist for some reason, then it can be done afterwards.

Our Optometrists have been performing Eye Exams for a number of years and have gained valuable experience to perform the tasks required.
